August 2007 Part of international Research on Strategic Innovation and Small to Medium Enterprises

This research is part of a major international collaborative project initiated and led by Tim Mazzaroi ( Centre for Entrepreneurial Management and Innovation, University of Western Australia) and Sophie Reboud (Centre for Business Research, Groupe ESC, Dijon, France). The study involves data collection and analysis of entrepreneurial firms in approximately 18 countries (including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, NZ, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdon) followed by drafting chapters on each country for a book which will be published by Edward Elgar

The findings from this study will be of benefit to entrepreneurs/managers of SMEs, to SME advisors, policy makers and academics and students interested in strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The researcher leading the New Zealand study is Professor Delwyn Clark from Waikato Management School.

March 2006 Racewell part of Farm Gate Study

Racewell selected as the preferred provider of drafting systems for the Farm Gate Sheep Beef and Deer Project. This project is facilitated through Innovation Park and Abacus Biotech and involves one commercial farm in the South Island and one in the North Island. The goals of the project are:

to encourage New Zealand Agritech collaboration to develop integrated farm management systems that are straight forward to set up and useable for farmers
to demonstrate to farmers that it is possible to install and use technology to add significant profit to the bottom line of farming and in particular that traceability technologies can be productive tools rather than a compliance burden.

The concept of integrated farm management systems is based around the productivity and market opportunities offered by the seamless integration of electronic base farm technologies. Identification and traceability technologies in particular provide farmers with tools to understand a central farm system at a level that has previously been infeasible.
